SHE Unlimited, A New Network for Women, Celebrates Its December Launch
(PRWeb) December 23, 2006 -- SHE Unlimited launched its new women's network on December 18th, just in time for the Holiday Season. SHE Unlimited, which was previously a forums only site, devoted to the Indie community, have expanded their content to include feature articles, podcasts, columns, interviews, reviews, music and more. The site which is headed up by CEO Veronica Marie, Executive Producer Gary Connolly and Executive Editor Robin LoRé is a refreshing take on information for woman. Their editorials are geared towards real woman of every walk of life, race, sexual orientation, religion and ethnicity. They describe themselves as "A Round Table of Beautiful Diversity."
With a varied group of contributors, they offer a look into the lives of all kinds of woman and provide a "no-bull" anti-fluff demeanor that has plagued women's media for years. "We want to be a network where all women feel comfortable, laugh a little and think a lot," says Robin LoRé of the site. In addition to the core staff, other staff contributors include Patricia Wilson-Smith, author of Duped By Love, celebrated Zen relationship guru Dr. Brenda Shoshanna and Roving Reviewer of new "Flicks" and music, Alexa Fernandez. While SHE Unlimited is still in the process of building their content and adding new contributors all the time they have gotten off to a good start with their December issue by including great holiday feature articles, a plethora of interviews with woman and men of interest and a large commitment to the Indie community with spotlights on up and coming small businesses.
While in the past their SHE Interviews were Indie shop focused, they are no longer restricted to that community; they have recently added discussions with authors, musicians, models, actresses and artists to the mix. Veronica Marie who conducts the written interviews likes to ask fun and probing questions and her interviews are a hoot to read. "I want to get to the nitty gritty of the individual and what they are about rather than asking the same standard questions. I've always admired Larry King's interview style, and thus, try to use some of his technique when interviewing my subjects," says Veronica of her interviewing style.
While they discuss the "nuts and bolts" of life like what new product or potion works the best, and what new designers are making headlines, they also confront issues of social importance that enter the lives of all women such as anorexia, child abuse and poverty. They assert in their "About" page that no woman's life is without adversity, and that "even those of us who think we have life pretty well managed will wake up one day to find that adversity has entered through the back door." Their core staff is an eclectic group with a single focused mission for the network, yet they all have different agenda's. Each staff member brings their own unique take on life to SHE Unlimited, offering their readers a variety of opinions and attitudes, instead of homogenous indistinction.
SHE Unlimited plans on ever expanding their network into broader horizons. Their radio broadcast "SHE Tunes" and "SHE Podcasts" are overseen by Executive Producer, Gary Connolly. Connolly adds his own brand of fun and edgy twist to SHE Tunes, which has been enjoying a quickly growing membership in recent weeks. Additionally, the Network was delighted to have Jennifer Nicole Lee come on board as one of their weekly contributors. Jennifer Nicole, who is touted as the leader of the "Fit Mom" revolution will be contributing a weekly column and Q & A section to the site in January 2007.
SHE Unlimited invites women of all walks of life to come and experience their new Web site. They welcome suggestions, ideas and commentary from the Internet community.
