The Energy Advocates to Honor Women in Energy Industry
Tulsa, OK (PRWEB) January 16, 2007 -- The Energy Advocates/IEPC will help celebrate Oklahoma's Centennial with a series of four official Centennial events. The first in the series will be the "Salute to Women in Energy" that will honor the women that have made the energy industry what it is today.
"With this year's series of events, we are focusing on all aspects of the energy industry - past, present and the future. The "Salute to Women in Energy" really honors the women that have made the energy industry great," stated Mark A. Stansberry, President of the Energy Advocates.
Christine Hansen, Executive Director of the Interstate Oil & Gas Compact Commission (IOGCC), is slated to be the luncheon keynote speaker. Prior to becoming Executive Director of the IOGCC over 13 years ago, Hansen was in private law practice and had been a senior executive officer with two large utility companies. "Her experience and accomplishments are extensive. We are excited to have her speaking at this event," said Stansberry.
The Energy Advocates are currently inviting recommendations for women to honor at the event. To make a recommendation, you can call the Tulsa Headquarters at (918) 599-7767.
The event is to be held on March 26th, 2007 at the Tulsa Petroleum Club and the event will begin at 11:00 am with a welcome reception and a luncheon to follow at 11:30 am. Attendees must pre-register with the Advocates by calling the Tulsa Headquarters.

Women who suppress thoughts and feelings and force themselves to remain silent during marital disputes have a higher risk of depression, irritable bowel syndrome, as well as death. Dr. Elaine Eaker of Eaker Epidemiology Enterprises in Maryland claims that self-silencing during conflict may have had advantages long ago where short term survival outweighed long term problems.
